This Food Lover's Friday I bring you down home southern comfort food and something spicy from the far east. The stewed beef is a nice slow burn that's cooled by the grits, whereas the Thai stirfry can be all fire if you like it that way.
Spicy Stewed Beef with Cheesy Grits
We had been enjoying some of Pioneer Woman's recipes, so when I found this recipe for stewed beef and grits--Ktams has quite the weakness for grits--we had to give 'er a go. This recipe is a nice slow cook, great for the weekends. I would recommend either REALLY liking grits, freezing a lot, or halving the recipe. Ooo! Or have guests over!Panang Curry with Beef
Before we moved to Portland we used to love Thai food! Now I'm sometimes kind of tired of it. When I'm not tired of it though I really like this recipe! It's one of my very first pins ever on Pinterest too! It's very flexible, which means we lean towards using more in season veggies when we make it--you can also add some extra peppers for some heat! This is a winner for a weeknight meal and because Keffir lime leaves are hard to find sometimes, we enjoy ours with some extra basil and a splash of lime juice. This baby gets 3 peppers if you make it right!I hope Food Lover's Friday makes cooking outside of your comfort zone a little easier knowing these recipes won't flop! ...unless I tell you otherwise--and don't worry I'll try and give lots of warnings to the flops :P
